Man makes wrong turn in Manhattan, nabbed in gun bust

A Pennsylvania man who made a wrong turn in Greenwich Village was arrested when police found four weapons -- including two assault rifles - and ammunition in his car.

Authorities say 46-year-old Victor Greer was pulled over at Grove Street and Seventh Avenue at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday.

They say he was driving his Chevy Cruze eastbound at Grove Street when he made an illegal turn northbound onto Seventh Avenue, which only runs south.

Officers assigned to the sixth precinct stopped the vehicle and spotted two knives in driver's seat.

A box of .22-caliber ammunition was discovered in the back seat, and a 25-round capacity .22- caliber magazine with approximately 20 rounds was locked on the floor behind the seat.

When the officers opened the truck, they found two AR-15 assault rifles, a shotgun and hand gun.

They also discovered a possible suicide note, which reportedly read, "I want to die in combat, so I can go to heaven and meet God."

Greer was taken into custody, and multiple weapons charges are pending.

Greer has prior arrests for firearms possession and reckless driving in Pennsylvania. He also has a prior arrest in Florida for an altercation with an officer.
