2 brutally beaten during New Jersey liquor store robbery attempt

Toni Yates reports from New Brunswick where a liquor store owner was beaten by two men in an attempted robbery.

A New Jersey liquor store owner and a visiting salesman in his shop were brutally attacked and pistol-whipped by a pair of robbers in broad daylight, and the entire incident was caught on video.



The incident happened around 11 a.m. on May 5, and investigators are hoping someone will recognize the attackers and call police.

Kamy Patel was standing near the counter when two armed men entered and immediately knocked him down and began to hit him and the other man with their guns.

Patel managed to break away from the attack and run to the door, where he screamed for a passerby to call 911.

The would-be robbers fled empty-handed.

Patel needed staples in his head as a result of the attack, and he has scars on his lip.

One suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a stocky build and black hair with a light patch, and he was was wearing a sweatshirt with the words "What not to" printed on it.

The second suspect was taller and dark skinned.
