Graphic Artist/Motion Designer
WABC-TV New York, is seeking an energetic and talented Graphic Artist/Motion Designer with exceptional visual effects abilities and concept development to join our busy in-house team. This person will create animations for on-air promotions, programming and graphics/animations for our daily news broadcasts.

Candidate must have a strong sense of typography and composition, and know how to use them in broadcast design. A strong working knowledge of After Effects is critical. Must be experienced with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D. Final Cut Pro, Curious Maps, Flash, Vertigo News software, web design, and scripting experience are important. The ability to work on both MAC and PC software platforms plus learn new technologies is required.

This position requires stylistic versatility, the ability to thrive under pressure, and schedule flexibility. Must have more than 5 years industry experience, a college degree in design or equivalent experience. An applicant with a news background is a plus.

News Media Manager/Editor
WABC-TV in NYC has an immediate opening for a News Media Manager/Editor. Responsibilities include: managing media ingests, digital file conversion and import, booking windows for incoming satellite feeds, FTP upload/download, managing digital servers and archives, and management/coordination of content during live newscasts, including coordinating communication between technical and editorial mangers, supervising/assigning Editors, news editing, monitoring and quality control of live transmissions, and monitoring the news rundown.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years television news editing experience, and multiple years of experience working in a TV newsroom exercising editorial judgment. Must be proficient in non-linear editing techniques, computer literate, comfortable working with Microsoft Office and Windows NT, as well as experience with one or more newsroom systems such as AP ENPS.

This individual must be highly organized and used to working under tight deadlines while working on multiple, overlapping projects. The News Media Manager will work closely with News Producers and Management to ensure the timely and accurate production of newscasts, special reports and special segments. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Must be willing to work any shift and weekends.

Stage Manager
WABC-TV, seeks a studio Stage Manager for all on air product. This person will be responsible for studio floor direction for all News and public affairs programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Act as primary link between the on-air talent and control room Directors and Producers.
2. Decipher scripts/rundowns in a fast changing, breaking news environment.
3. Cuing of on-air reporters and anchors and direct them into position.
4. Coordinate on placement of props/platforms with stage crew.
5. Coordinate anchor/reporter mic assignments.
6. Keeping one step ahead in anticipating and handling changes during the newscast.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 3-5 years prior Stage Manager/Associate Director experience in live news.
2. Ability to cover large studio floor space as determined by needs of the newscast.
3. Need to have shift flexibility and willingness to work long hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a major news market.

Web Developer
WABC-TV, New York. Live with Kelly and Michael is seeking a full-time Senior Web Developer to lead development of the Live with Kelly and Michael website. The Senior Web Developer should have 3+ years of experience developing sites using WordPress which includes custom theme development using well-structured, error-free PHP and valid HTML and CSS. Skill set should include project management, organization, client communication, thought leadership and expertise in web development and interface design.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop Live with Kelly and Michael website from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverable
  • Code and implement WordPress sites from Photoshop layout through HTML/CSS to a custom theme, functions, and plugins
  • Define and build new features, enhancements, and content of the existing website
  • Create and update re-usable code libraries to streamline WordPress development cycle
  • Facilitate WordPress training among internal team members, maintain site documentation and manage all site maintenance
Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience working in web development and interface design
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress with strong technical ability to do custom WP theme development

WABC-TV is looking for a Digital Producer. Candidate is a self-motivated, team player, who is able to generate ideas and exercise good judgment. He or she would be flexible, resourceful, and have strong organizational/time management skills with a strong desire to grow technically.
