A would-be beautician accused of killing a woman with a silicone butt injection returns to court in Manhattan Thursday.

Tamira Mobley is accused of practicing medicine without a licence.

The Woodridge, New Jersey, resident also faces manslaughter and assault charges in the death of Tamara Blaine.

Blaine died last July after receiving the injection in her backside. Investigators determined the substance went into her veins.

Authorities said Mobley met Blaine at the Liberty Inn Hotel last July. Emergency responders were called to the hotel some time later and found Blaine barely conscious.

Police said Mobley said only that Blaine had had a seizure. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The death was ruled a homicide in October, when the medical examiner's office determined that she died of asphyxiation.

Authorities said investigators found messages between the two women showing they had met for silicone injections three times before, and other messages that showed appointments with other people.
