The NYPD's counter-terrorism team is assuring New York City's Jewish community that no credible threats have been detected ahead of the feast of Passover.

NYPD Commissioner William Bratton led a pre-Passover briefing for religious and community leaders Tuesday.

Although there's no known threat, the NYPD is asking the Jewish community to remain alert and vigilant.

"We believe that by working with you, the communities we serve, we can continue to make this city safe from crime and terrorism for all residents," Bratton said.

Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism John Miller discussed how the department is leveraging technology to keep the NYPD on the forefront of combatting terrorism, explaining the many tools utilized in counterterrorism efforts.

The NYPD will continue to deploy additional resources to synagogues, Jewish neighborhoods and other potentially sensitive locations during the religious holiday.

Passover is one of the most widely celebrated Jewish holidays. It begins on April 14 and ends on April 22.
