Man wanted in several robberies of New York cleaners, laundry businesses

Police are looking for a man wanted in several robberies of Laundromat and cleaner businesses.

The suspect demands money and sometimes shows a small, silver knife. He then removes money from the registers and in some cases, assaults the victim. The suspect is described as a black male, 45-55 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 190 pounds., wearing a dark waist-length jacket, a blue hoodie and blue jeans.

The incidents are as follows:

-- On Feb. 22, around 8 p.m. at the 217 Laundromat at 217 E. 26th St., the suspect removed $300 from the register.

-- Around 7:25 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Alpine Cleaners, 178 E. 70th St., the victim gave the suspect $200.

-- Around 6:45 p.m. on March 12 at the Elegant Cleaners and Tailors, 168 E. 24th St., the suspect took $300 from the register and punched the victim in the face. The victim did not require medical attention.

-- At 7:25 p.m. on March 27, at the 29th Street Cleaner, at 212 East 29th St., the suspect had a knife and demanded money. When the victim refused, the suspect punched the victim in the face and threw her to the ground. The suspect fled without any money.

-- At 5:20 p.m. March 29, the suspect removed $500 from the register at Lok's Laundry at 354 E. 81 St.
