New Jersey Transit says NEC, NJCL, RVL, and Midtown Directs have resumed service between Newark and New York after a brush fire in the Kearny/Newark area caused earlier suspensions.

Those lines are operating on or close to schedule.

M&E (Gladstone & Montclair-Boonton) service has also been restored between Newark Broad Street and NY Penn/Hoboken.

MainBergen, PVL & Port Jervis lines were not delayed.

PATH also suspended its service due to the fire, but later resumed regular operations in both directions between Newark and Journal Square.

No injuries were reported after the brush fire broke out, but officials say strong winds were hampering efforts to contain the blaze.
