When he put up a sign outside his church on 123rd and Lenox in Harlem, he knew emotions would run wild. People would be angry.
"Do I look like I'm afraid of anything?" he said to us.
The marquee message reads "Obama has released gay demons on the black man. Look out black woman, a white gay may take your man."
"There are a lot of white homosexual men that are seeking after homosexual black men," Manning said.
He also makes the extreme claim that the president, a married father of two, is also gay.
"Being married does not exclude nor exempt anyone from being homosexual," he said.
Outside the church, on the streets of Harlem, people stop and stare in shock.
"I can't believe that a pastor would put that up there," said one passerby.
"And in the middle of Harlem. It's disgraceful that he should have a Temple and preach the hate that he's preaching," said another.
They're demanding that the sign comes down.
"It may be free speech but it's free hate speech," one person said.
"That's inappropriate. That's not something you should put up there and I'm a black woman," said another.
Some say the minister has gone too far turning his house of prayer into a haven for hate.

"It's just wrong. It's just biblically wrong," Manning said.
