Man stabbed in convenience store near LIRR stop in Hicksville

One person was stabbed in a convenience store near the LIRR train station in Hicksville.

The victim, possibly a worker, was stabbed during an alleged robbery at the Mini Mart just after 8:30 a.m., on Friday.

The alleged incident took place near the LIRR station in Hicksville.

Witnesses say one man went into the store to allegedly rob the worker when an altercation took place between the victim.

Two other men who are said to be accomplices tried to leave the scene on an MTA bus where they were arrested.

The victim was able to get out of the store and lock the door, trapping the suspect inside the store.

Police continue investigate and interview witnesses.

The victim is recovering in the hospital with a stab wound to his side.
