A dangerous discovery in the Bronx led NYPD officers to investigate an apartment believed to have deadly toxins inside.

It all started when a 22-year-old man living on Cruger Avenue in the Pelham Parkway section told police he had cyanide and didn't want it anymore.

Officers went inside the home and removed several bags containing suspicious substances, but testing will have to be conducted in order to determine what exactly the substances are.

A woman and a 1-year-old child, the suspect's wife and child, were also removed from the apartment. They were taken to St. Barnabus Hospital for precautionary measures.

They have since been released, and the apartment has been rendered safe. The building was never evacuated.

Last Friday, the suspect went to the 49th Precinct and stated he had some substance on him that ended up testing positive for cyanide.

Jonathan Norling is facing charges of unlawfully possessing noxious matter.

He is currently being held under observation at Bellevue Hospital.
