Police have identified an elderly man killed in a hit-and-run in Brooklyn after the victim's family reported him missing.

Investigators say 81-year-old Ruben Rivera was fatally struck while pushing a shopping cart along Atlantic Avenue near the East New York LIRR station just before 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Relatives reported him missing on Sunday.

Authorities say Rivera was walking past a parked truck when the driver pulled out of the spot, hitting and killing him, before taking off.

That driver has not yet been found.

The truck is described as a 3-axle dark-colored cab, straight flatbed truck with a boom.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
