Abused in life, unclaimed in death

He had no chance in life, and, it seems, he's being equally disused in death.

4-year-old Myles (pronounced Miles) Dobson remains as I write this in the New York City Morgue, his body unclaimed, a week after his death. He is in so many ways been treated in death as he was in life - horribly. The little boy - with his mother losing custody to his father, who is in jail for a financial white-collar crime, who gave the boy to his transgender girlfriend, who is now charged in the case - died after a long period of torture, starvation and beatings.

Why hasn't this boy been claimed? We have heard all sorts of excuses - dad's in jail, the mom wants to get him but for some reason hasn't yet - and the story has broken so many hearts. So many of you have asked why this little boy hasn't yet been buried. It's a disturbing, but right-on question.

Tonight at 11, we'll update you on what's happening to him. We'll also have any breaking news of the night, plus Meteorologist Lee Goldberg with his AccuWeather forecast, and Rob Powers with the night's sports. I hope you can join Diana Williams (in for Sade Baderinwa) and me, tonight at 11.
