New Jersey woman charged with having stun gun in dispute over shopping cart

A New Jersey woman is under arrest after police she threatened another customer with a stun gun during a confrontation in a Walmart parking lot.

On Thursday night, police were alerted to a dispute at a Walmart in Linden.

A 42-year old woman from Staten Island told officers she and another woman were having an argument over a shopping cart when the other woman pulled out a stun gun and activated in a threatening manner.

Police arrested 34-year old Latosha Mathis after officers found the TW-11 stun gun in her purse.

She was charged with illegal possession of a stun gun, a fourth degree crime, and released on a summons pending a December 6th court date in Union County court.

Conviction of a fourth degree crime carries a fine of up to $10,000.00 and up to 18 months in jail.
