Life is taking a kinder turn for the Connecticut mother who lost her three daughters and both her parents in a Christmas day fire in Stamford back in 2011.

Madonna Badger now plans to marry her fiance, William Duke, next September.

She tells Vogue magazine that her life has changed and she has put thoughts of suicide behind her.

She says she finally awoke to life again while volunteering at an orphanage in Thailand.

The fire killed 7-year-old twins Grace and Sarah Badger, 9-year-old Lily Badger and their maternal grandparents, Lomer and Pauline Johnson. The city investigated and determined the cause was accidental.

Firefighters arrived and dragged Badger off the burning building. A friend also survived the fire.
