A suspect is under arrest after a police-involved shooting in Harlem early Saturday morning.

Police say three plain-clothes officers with the Manhattan Anti-Crime Unit were on patrol at about 3 a.m. when they heard several gunshots at West 111th Street and Lenox Avenue.

The officers saw a 27-year old man with a gun in his hand.

According to police, one officer exited the unmarked police vehicle and approached the suspect; when he pointed the firearm in the officer's direction, two officers fired their weapons at the suspect.

The man fled on foot but was apprehended a few blocks later on West 112th street and 5th Avenue.

Police say they saw him throw a silver Smith and Wesson .357 caliber revolver as he was running.

The gun was recovered on West 111th Street between 5th and Lenox Avenues.

The officers were transported to St. Luke's Hospital for tinnitus.

Charges against the suspect are pending as the investigation continues.
