The accident took place on Orangeburg Road and Zotti Avenue in Old Tappan.

Old Tappan Police say the kids had just left Camp Shalom located at 184 Orangeburg Road in Old Tappan. There were several buses that had just left the camp because it was the end of the day.

The bus involved in the crash was heading southbound on Orangeburg Road when it rear-ended a pickup truck that had slowed down to turn into a driveway. The bus involved was #214 operated by D&M Tours of Paterson, NJ.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered moderate to serious injuries and was taken to Englewood Hospital.

There were 43 kids and a driver on the school bus, 44 in total. The kids ranged in age from 5-12 years old. There were no serious injuries. Six of the kids were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated, four to Hackensack and two to Englewood.

No criminality is suspected.
