NEW YORK --Firefighters are battling a series of car fires on Manhattan's West Side. The fires broke out Friday morning in the Hudson River parking deck at Pier 40. One car caught fire, igniting a chain reaction that sparked fires in several other cars. Smoke was seen billowing out of the parking deck. The FDNY responded from West Street. The fires led to traffic delays through the area during Friday morning's rush hour on the West Side Highway. At least one lane of the highway was closed near 57th Street.
