Donna Graziano founded a donation center about 100 yards away from Cedar Grove Beach. She says she helps out about 100 people a day. Back in November, President Obama paid a visit to the site when he surveyed the storm damage.
Now, the Parks Department is asking Graziano to move out in three weeks to make way for the construction of sand dunes and in preparation for beachgoers this summer.
"I asked them what to do if I can't get a place to go in three weeks ? limited options," said Graziano.
In a written statement, a Parks Department spokesperson said, "this work is being performed in anticipation of the upcoming summer season, as well as to provide temporary emergency protective measures for the adjacent upland communities.
"No one is ready, I'm not ready," said Deparsia, "give us one more year."
