Detectives say it was just too easy. They say 38-year-old Noreen Hanney used a woman's bank account as her own, personal piggybank.

What's all the more offensive, they say, is that the victim was a developmentally disabled resident in a group home, where Ms. Hanney was her trusted caretaker.

Sergeant Mark Pulaski of the Suffolk County Police says that the victim noticed everything herself, and that Hanney bled her bank account of more than $3,000.

Hanney the money to take a Florida vacation and make payments on her Toyota Highlander SUV. This was all possible because she had the victim's debit card and pin number.

Noreen Hanney did not answer the door at her home in Bay Shore on Friday afternoon, but her sister refused to discuss the case.
