A player for the Brooklyn Nets, Andray Blatche, and several other people were questioned at the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit. Blatche was questioned and released, however two other people are in custody.
Our sister station, WPVI-TV, first reported that the alleged assault overnight at the Four Seasons in Center City Philadelphia.
Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman, says the assault reportedly happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in a room at the hotel.
Police say a 21-year-old woman is being treated and is expected to be okay.
ESPN New York reports Brooklyn Nets center Andray Blatche was questioned as part of the investigation. The source told ESPN that it was Blatche's friend who is the focus of the investigation.
Police told ESPNNewYork.com that no charges have been filed but the investigation is continuing.
Without admitting that he was questioned by police, Blatche tweeted Tuesday: "Im ok and I didn't do anything jus was n the area when it happened." The tweet was later removed from his feed.
The Nets are scheduled to play the Philadelphia 76ers at home Tuesday night.
Nets General Manager Billy King said that the team is aware of the investigation.
"We will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded. All of our players are available for tonight's game," King said.
