Fundraiser for dogs and cats displaced by Sandy

December 9, 2012 6:03:43 AM PST
With more dogs and cats than ever in need of new homes after Hurricane Sandy, a fundraiser is being held Sunday night in New York City for displaced pets.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m, Celebrity Catwalk presents: "Tinsel and Tails", an event dedicated to raising money and awareness about the homeless pet population of New York City.

140 dogs and cats are euthanized every week in NYC shelters due to lack of space.

The effects of Sandy have only exacerbated the plight of homeless pets.

Tickets for Sunday night's event will be available at the door.
