Surveillance video released of suspect in attemped rape

The NYPD is hoping surveillance video can lead them to the man wanted in an attempted rape.

The incident happened near Lenox Avenue and West 118th Street around 7 p.m. Sunday.

The 22-year-old woman says her attacker aimed a gun at her, threw her to the ground and then tried to rape her.

A passerby came to the woman's aid and the attacker took off.

The suspect is described as a black man between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 5-foot-10, last seen wearing a black hoodie and a black bubble jacket.
