Boy sells bracelets to help Sandy victims

November 29, 2012 5:16:48 AM PST
A boy in New Jersey had a big idea about how to help people devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Nine-year-old Peter Coar, of Jersey City, was so upset by the damage from Sandy he decided to donate the $200 of allowance money he had saved to a Sandy relief fund.

He still wanted to do more, so his mom suggested they sell bracelets to raise money for the Red Cross.

He sold the bracelets to his classmates and on a Facebook page.

So far he's raised more than $1,000.
