New York City neighborhoods that took the worst hits from Hurricane Sandy are now seeing a major spike in crime.

The NYPD says parts of the Rockaways, Brooklyn and Staten Island have been rocked by a surge in burglaries.

In some cases, the local crime rates have doubled from what they were last year.

In Queens, the Belle Harbor and Breezy Point neighborhoods have seem crime jump by 131 percent from last November.

And if you measure for just last week, crime there is up 237 percent.
