October 28, 2012 8:21:18 AM PDT
It's the first Senate race in New York to feature two women as the main candidates.

Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand is campaigning for her first full term in the Senate.

She was appointed by Governor David Paterson to replace Hillary Clinton in 2009, and was elected two years ago to serve out the rest of Clinton's term.

And attorney Wendy Long is hoping to become the first Republican Senator from New York in more than a decade.

This week, a conversation with the candidates.
