New trend: Eyebrow transplants

The angle, the arch, the attitude, if your eyes are the window to your soul, then your eyebrows are the frame. If you don't like your brows, it can be downright depressing.

For ten years, Pamela Penrose watched as bald spots appeared in her eyebrows. "It's a little embarrassing and it affects my self-esteem. Brooke Shields has a sophisticated look and that's what I'm looking for" Penrose said.

Pamela turned to Dr. Sanusi Umar for an eyebrow transplant. Dr. Sanusi pioneered a way to harvest hair from a woman's arms, legs, or nape of the neck instead of using head hairs because much more resembles the natural eyebrow. It takes about two and a half hours ? one hair at a time.

Three weeks after the procedure, Pamela's eyebrows are a lot larger and thicker which is exactly what she wanted.

Another patient, Sarah Tirosh had her transplant five months ago. She was so frustrated with her brows; she resorted to painful tattooing to get a dramatic brow.

Before Sarah went through the procedure, she had few hairs, even with the tattoos. Today, the initial, transplanted hairs have shed and new hairs have grown in naturally. "Now my face looks even and normal, I am absolutely happy 100%" she said.
