Investigators released surveillance video and photos of two men they say spray painted swastikas at six locations in Borough Park early Friday morning. The area has a significant number of Orthodox Jewish residents.
The men are described being about 20 years old. One was wearing black shorts, black shoes, a light colored hoodie and glasses. The other was wearing a light colored shorts, tee shirt and hat.
The hate graffiti littered the area around 16th Avenue and 46th Street, with swastikas painted on a school, a synagogue, a minivan, a deli and a supermarket, among other places.
Most of the graffiti was found along a three-block stretch of 16th Avenue, which is a major thoroughfare in what is regarded as the largest Jewish community in America.
Surveillance video indicates that the damage was done around 2:30 a.m. and was the work of at least two young men who police say were clearly seen on the tape scrawling the graffiti.
