Arrest made in livery cab robberies

Police have made one arrest and are seeking a second suspect in a string of livery cab robberies in the Bronx. In two of the crimes, the cab drivers were assaulted or stabbed.Elias Gonzalez, 22, surrendered to police after seeing his photo on the news.

The second suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Llonnie Dempster of the Bronx.

Dempster is about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds. He has been seen wearing a bubble jacket, fisherman's hat or knitted cap.

Authorities say a man hailed a cab on Sept. 18, and then assaulted the driver and demanded money when the cab arrived at his destination. On Sept. 20, police say the suspect tried to do the same thing to another cab driver and stabbed him in the back when the driver tried to get away. The driver suffered minor injuries.

On Sept. 23, the suspect and another man assaulted another driver after taking a ride. Police say they fled with money and the cab's security camera.
