FEMA response team to visit Nassau County

Possible federal aid could be available to people in Hurricane Irene battered Nassau County.

A FEMA response team is set to visit there this week.

The team will survey the damage and assess the community's needs.

It will also offer information about qualifying for federal aid.

Residents can meet with the fema team Thursday and Friday in Massapequa, and on September 12 through 14 in Seaford.

Residents can meet with the FEMA team at the times and locations below:

9/8 and 9/9 at Marjorie Post Park
Unqua Rd.
Massapequa
From 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

9/12, 9/13, 9/14 at Cedar Creek Park
Seaford
From 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
