There's a new development in the tragic crash that killed a 13-year-old girl sitting on her building stoop on Saturday.

The driver's death has been ruled a homicide.

Police say he was stabbed in the chest shortly before he got behind the wheel and lost control of his SUV in Brownsville.

The suspect has been identified as 51-year-old Kenneth Risher of Brooklyn, who remains on the run.

Police believe the driver, 44-year-old Sean Lewis, was a loan shark trying to collect money from Risher.

13-year-old Kira Goddard had been hanging out with her friends when the tragic crash claimed her life.
