Robert Oliva was sentenced to 5 years probation in Boston. Oliva coached at Christ the King Regional high School for decades until resigning in 2009. He pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape and one count of disseminating pornography to a minor.
His accuser was not a player, but a family friend.
Prosecutors say Oliva abused the then-14-year-old during a trip to Boston in 1976.
Oliva's accuser read a statement calling Oliva "a disgusting human being" who used his power to treat him as a sex toy.
Oliva won 549 games and five city championships in 27 seasons at Christ the King, where he coached several future NBA players.
