Eat where you shop

If you are looking for some good places to eat while you shop, here are a few places to check out in Manhattan.

Food Parc is located at the base of the New Eventi Hotel on 6th Avenue.

Pop in for lunch to go or stay. No matter what you choose, it's fast because of the ordering system.

Touch screens allow you to select from any of the three main stations options. When your order is ready, it pops up on a screen.

If Food Parc is futuristic, then the Plaza Food Hall is elegant and old world.

Modeled on a European food hall and located below the Plaza Hotel in Midtown, the hall features different stations for pizza, salads, meats, sushi, whole fish and more.

You can order from one main menu and you do get waiter service, which is certainly a step up from food courts.

The food is by Todd English and there are provisions to buy as well.

Average dining time is 35 minutes.

It could take you that long to just make your way through the 50-thousand square foot Eataly, Mario Batali's Italian feast of a food court.

Eataly includes seven restaurants focusing on the different markets, such as vegetables, wood-fired pizza and pasta bar, a seafood bar and even a wine bar.

It's all informal with limited menus, but you may end up spending more time shopping here than eating.
