Drive through robbery in New Jersey

October 9, 2009 3:24:51 PM PDT
It is a vulnerable moment, right when you're ordering food at a drive through. Jersey City police say at 4 am Thursday, at a Jersey City Burger King drive through near the Holland Tunnel, a beggar used that moment to approach a customer in his car.

They say he asked the customer for $2, and when the customer said no he stabbed him in the neck.

"It's kind of scary to think that you're just driving through Burger King and you could get stabbed," said Nicole Kaduson.

At least one customer tells Eyewitness News he's been approached by beggars at the same spot before.

"I've been here before and seen guys that come up and ask for money," said Andrew Hubschmann. He adds, "This, maybe happened 3 or 4 times."

At the drive through there are at least two surveillance cameras that might give cops some clues. Meanwhile, most customers tell Eyewitness News, despite what happened they don't plan to give up their whoppers any time soon.

"Even though it scares me you still gotta live life the way you see how fit? What else can you do,"" said Abi Castillo.
