Repairman burglar identified by cops

Authorities have identified the man caught on camera posing as a repair man to gain entry to a home in Teaneck, N.J.Eyewitness News is told Avery Drew, of Newark, was identified to Teaneck Police by numerous tipsters after surveillance video of him entering a Willow Street apartment building aired on the news.

Authorities went to Drew's Newark home, but he was not there. They are now actively searching for Drew, who is wanted in the burglary of an apartment.

Drew is believed to be driving a Silver Honda Accord with Chrome rims and New Jersey license plate WGH 13P. He works at Gemini Goodyear on West Market Street in Newark.

Police say he has prior arrests for burglary in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, for which he served six years in prison. He was released last October.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Teaneck police at 201-837-2600. During the burglary, Drew stole an undetermined amount of jewelry from an apartment.
